Interesting premise concerning grown children that have to put their abusive father in a nursing care facility.
It is a slow mover for sure, but artsy.
I enjoyed the writing and the brother-sister interaction.
I have grown over the years to really appreciate Philip Seymour Hoffman’s acting ability from the bratty prep school student in “Scent of a Woman” to now. He is extremely versatile.
I also like Laura Linney as an actress. She always seems to play a similar character as in “Love Actually” though, but she pulls this one off as the little sister riddled with guilt.
All in all, pretty good. Once you’ve seen it, you’ll probably not see it again, but…
It probably won’t be one of the ones that you’ll want occupying space on your DVD shelf.
It is a subject that we will all have to deal with sooner or later.
It reinforces the adage: Treat your children well, they will be picking out your nursing home.
