There’s just some things that you remember, like what you were doing 24 years ago today… We were in the middle of a freak Tax Day blizzard in Sioux City, Iowa. Because 24 years ago today, the baby of the family was born! Stormie Dae Rhoades entered the world much like our other children but by then Jeanie and I were old hats at having kids. Stormie entered the world at a teaching hospital with about 24 would-be doctors and nurses crowded into every nook and cranny of our hospital room to watch. After repeated requests to let the students in, we declined but then at the moment of birthing, we finally said, “what the heck” and said yes. The doc thought we worked together so well that they wanted us to be seen as an example.And Stormie has been on stage ever since!

Stormie is not the typical spoiled baby of the family. On the contrary, she is one of the most loving, giving and charitable people I know. If you ask Stormie what she is doing, she will usually tell you that she is working on a project. And 99.9 % of the time, it is for someone else. Go ahead, ask her…She just finished the cover to my first novel, Altar, to be released soon; and a grand design it is

I have a colage that she designed for me by the mirror in our bathroom of me holding her as a baby. I keep it there so that I never forget to pray for her and all of my children every day…I love you my little Tormlette.
